Legacy Motor Club and Rick Ware Racing’s lawsuit has been officially settled. The dispute over Legacy’s purchase of a third charter from the outgoing Rick Ware Racing has been raging for some time now, but no longer. As of today, Legacy is the official owner of the charter.
Both Rick Ware Racing and Legacy Motor Club have dropped a joint statement stating, “I believe we landed in a mutually beneficial place for both teams and the result will be a clear path forward for us all,” – Rick Ware.
It is probably a bit late in the season for Legacy to put a car on track for the 2026 season. It is not yet known who will operate the chartered car for the season. One of the Rick Ware charters is leased by RFK Racing for the No. 60 Mustang for Ryan Preece. It is believed that the charter in question will remain in possession of the buyer of RWR and not be the one sold to LMC. However, that is not 100% confirmed.
