In October 2024, it was announced that Spencer Bayston would drive the #14 Jason Meyers Racing entry full-time in 2025 and compete for the Kubota High Limit Racing championship. Corey Day, who would be splitting time between dirt and NASCAR in 2025, would move to a second, part-time entry for the team. Bayston, a very talented driver, was coming off an 8th-place points run in 2024, driving the #5 for CJB Motorsports machine. After the success that Day found in the car in 2024, hopes were high for the team. But things just never materialized this year, and in 25 starts, the #14 has only a single top 5, and that was nearly two months ago at Huset’s. Day, who has only made thirteen starts in a second car, has six top 5s and three wins on the season.
After weeks of rumors, it was announced on Sunday that Bayston would be out of the #14 effective immediately. In addition, the team is consolidating into a single car operation with Day moving back into the 14 for as many races as his schedule will allow to close out the 2025 High Limit season. It should be interesting to see if the team goes back to two cars for 2026, or if they stick to the solo route since it’s widely expected that Day will run full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next year.
