Our Mission

Seriously Fast Media was founded in late 2020 and evolved into Seriously Fast Motorsports in 2023, with a single goal: to bring you the best, most accurate coverage of all things motorsports. Although it has grown beyond founder Tom Luttermoser’s wildest dreams, that commitment has never changed.

Our website was founded by a car salesman, someone who never attended journalism school. Driven solely by a passion for motorsports. So we pride ourselves on growth and learning. Doing things the right way. We have become a platform based on that premise. Being the first stepping stone, so to speak, for those who hope to pursue a career in motorsports journalism.

Seriously Fast Motorsports is committed to delivering accurate, timely, and independent motorsports coverage. Our mission is to inform fans from all walks of life with factual reporting, responsible analysis, and transparent commentary.

Online Publication vs Social Media

Our website and social media presence show two types of presence. First, our website is strictly professional coverage. Do we insert a joke or two in opinion pieces? Sure do! But we continue to push for the most accurate coverage possible.

Second, Social Media. Racing is fun; it’s meant to be fun for all. So yes, we do tend to have quite a bit of fun on our social media pages. With that being said, outside of the obvious, all information posted is verified for accuracy.

Editorial Independence

SFM maintains full editorial independence.

  • Coverage decisions are made by our editorial team
  • We have no active advertisers or sponsors; if we did, they would hold zero influence over our content.

Accuracy & Verification

We prioritize verification over speed. If it’s breaking news, we likely won’t be first, but we will be right.

  • We verify information via multiple reliable sources whenever possible
  • We make sure to differentiate between a developing story and confirmed reports.
  • We ensure to correct any errors promptly and transparently

Sourcing

As a Detroit-based company, we rely heavily on Official communications (e.g., NASCAR, IMSA, F1, Teams, OEMs, and others). However, we also source from;

  • Direct interviews and credentialled access to racing events
  • Publicly available documents
  • On the Record statements from verified sources

Anonymous Sources

Yes, we do have anonymous sources. We hold the utmost respect for the protection of their identities. We only use sources with direct knowledge.

Opinions vs. News

We clearly distinguish between three things here at SFM: News Reporting, Analysis, and Opinion.

Opinion pieces do not represent the official positions of Seriously Fast Media, teams, leagues, or sponsors.

Corrections Policy

We hold accuracy to be of the utmost importance. If we publish inaccurate information

  • We correct the article/posts as quickly as possible
  • Clearly note the correction at the bottom of the article
  • Explain what was changed and why

You may request corrections by contacting our Editor-in-Chief, Tom Luttermoser @ tluttermoser@seriouslyfastmedia.com

AI & AI Content

This is a big one nowadays. Seriously Fast Media will NEVER create written content on this website. We MAY use AI to assist with Data formatting, graphics, site setup, or grammar refinement. If that puts us behind, then so be it.

Contributors Rights and Community Standards

Here at Seriously Fast Media, we encourage respectful discussion. We work with teams, contributors, photographers, and many others. Many of these people do not share the same social or political beliefs, and we respect each individual’s ideologies. It’s what makes this country great. With that being said, the beliefs of others who may have been mentioned in or represented in our publication are not being represented by SFM.

Our founder once swore an oath to defend the rights of all Americans, and the freedom of speech is of the utmost importance. We refuse to censor our contributors’ opinions or free speech in their private lives or on their private social media. Their opinions DO NOT represent Seriously Fast Media. However, we reserve the right to relieve SFM staff, contributors, or interns if they violate others’ rights, including, but not limited to, false allegations, hate speech, or harassment.
