Cassidy Leads the Way to Portland as Formula E Heads to the US

This weekend June 29-30 marks Formula E’s return stateside for the first time since Season 9 (2023). Portland, Oregon at the series only full length race course designed for other racing leagues, Portland International Raceway.

This weekend’s double-header events at the 2024 the Hankook Portland E-Prix will mark Rounds 13 and 14 of Season 10. The 2.001 mile long circuit just a couple minute drive from Washington state hosted its first E-Prix in 2023 that saw over 400 passes for position. This comes thanks to its high-speed straights and strategic passing zones.

Mitch Evans has an opportunity to tie the all time Formula E win record if he repeats can win this weekend at Portland. The New Zealander currently sits with 12 wins to his name in the series. Mitch has already won twice so far in Season 10, at Monaco and Round 11 in Shanghai.

Mitch Evans Jaguar TCS teammate Nick Cassidy on the other hand is currently leading the drivers standings by 25 points over TAG Heuer Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein with Evans following by a further 10 points in third.

Cassidy, like Evans, has a pair of wins already in Season 10 at Diriyah Round 3 and Berlin Round 11. Looking to Portland and you’re looking at the inaugural race winner from Season 9 in 2023. This should absolutely put Cassidy on your ones to watch list.

This weekend’s E-Prix in Portland promises to be action packed for fans both in person and TV. Combining the on track action and breathtaking scenery in the background for a fantastic viewership experience. Last season over 20,000 fans attended the inaugural race. Those fans were treated to those spectacular views and a vibrant food and drink scene at and around the track.
