One of NASCAR’s most exciting series, the Whelen Modified tour, wraps up their season tonight at Martinsville Speedway. And 2 legends of the series are going to battle it out for the Championship.

Ron Silk enters tonight’s race with a 13 point lead over Justin Bonsignore. The two front runners are the only drivers who can capture the series title, and if their seasons have given us any preview, it’s going to be a knock down, drag out battle for 200 laps.
Both Silk and Bonsignore have 5 wins a piece on the year. The difference, you ask? Silk has 16 top 10 finishes to Bonsignore’s 15. As far as momentum goes, Silk was the series’ most recent winner at Thompson Motorsports Park just 2 weeks ago, where Bonsignore crossed the line 13th.
Regardless of tonight’s, and the season’s outcome, these two drivers have both had an incredible season. The modified tour always provides on track excitement for the fans and it is all thanks in part to grass root drivers like these two competitors.
