It’s obvious to anyone who paid attention in 2023 that Ford Performance did not light the world on fire in any of the 3 NASCAR Series. What they did do, was capitalize on the format. So let’s take a look at the first NASCAR Championship sweep season in Ford Performance history
Craftsman Truck Series- 6 wins

Zane Smith, defending Craftsman Truck Series champion started off the year with a bang at Daytona’s season opener and followed that up with a second win in a row at COTA in Austin, Texas 3 weeks later.
2 Weeks later, 2x Cup Series champion Joey Logano scored his second career Truck Series win on the dirt at Bristol for ThorSport.
Eventual champion Ben Rhodes would score ThorSport their second win at Charlotte.
ThorSport driver Ty Majeski would go on to dominate the race at IRP, leading 179 of 200 laps for the team’s 3rd win of 2023.
With 3 races to go in the season, Truck champion Brett Moffitt was added as a second truck by Front Row Motorsports as a drafting partner for Zane Smith at Talladega in the Playoffs only for Smith to have issues and Brett to nail his 13th career Craftsman Truck Series victory and the last win of the season for Ford.
Ben Rhodes would go on to finish 5th at Phoenix. But it was 1 spot good enough to score his second Craftsman Truck Series title and Ford Performances’ second in a row.
Xfinity Series- 5 Wins

It would take 4 months into the 2023 Xfinity season for a Ford Performance driver to win. Eventual series champion Cole Custer would score that win in early June at Portland International Raceway after a late-race restart. He would follow that up 3 weeks later at a rain-shortened Chicago Street Race.
Aric Almirola made a one off start for RSS Racing at Sonoma Raceway in the summertime for his 4th career Xfinity Series victory while also being RSS’s first.
Riley Herbst had some great races in 2023. With top-5s and runner up finishes, Herbst showed a lot of speed at times. But he would score his first career victory at home at Las Vegas with just a few races to go.
To seal the deal for his first Xfinity Series championship, Cole Custer would go on to win at Phoenix after a spectacular late race restart for his 3rd win of the season.
Cup Series – 8 Wins
Joey Logano would score his only win of 2023 and the first for Ford Performance at Atlanta over former teammate Brad Keselowski, overtaking him on a late race restart in the Spring.
Eventual Champion Ryan Blaney would score his first points paying win in nearly 2 years at the Coke 600 at Charlotte in an emotional victory. Ryan would have to wait until into the Playoffs before winning his second race of the season at Talladega locking himself into the Round of 8. Blaney would then go on to win again at Martinsville, sealing his fate as the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Christopher Buescher, as Jr would call him, would go on to score his 3rd career Cup Series victory at Richmond in the mid-summer and follow that up the following race “weekend” with a win on Monday at Michigan. Buescher would then net one more score with a win at Daytona coming into the playoffs.
Michael McDowell would score his second career victory at the Indy Road course to lock himself into the Playoffs giving Ford Performance 3 wins in a row with a very strong Summertime showing.
Ryan Blaney would battle hard with race winner Ross Chastain at Phoenix coming up 1 spot short of the race win. That was more than good enough to score Team Penske and Ford Performance 2 Cup titles in a row!
