Despite many Legacy fans harping on the “dying sport” talking point, the sport is actually doing very well.
During NASCAR’s State of the Sport address on Friday, Oct. 3rd, all of NASCAR’s big wigs addressed the media concerning the State of NASCAR in 2023 into 2024. One of the topics mentioned by NASCAR President Steve Phelps was a 50% increase in sold-out venues over 2022.

Venue Sellouts up 50%
NASCAR is putting out more and more exciting racing with better at track as well as on track product, and that can be seen by more and more venues either having a resurgence in attendance (Michigan 2022 which cannot be compared to 2023 as the race was run on Monday). Weather was a big factor to several races in 2023 for both in person and broadcast numbers with Charlotte, New Hampshire, Dover and Michigan all having to be broadcast on Mondays.
