The Season 10 opener in Mexico City set the sport off right, with global overnight viewership increasing a whopping 54% in key markets for the Hankook Mexico City E-Prix compared to the season opener in 2023.

TV Numbers

Formula E’s biggest growth came from two major markets in the United States and the United Kingdom, with 3.4 Million American viewers tuning in to the as-live broadcast on CBS*. Compare that below to many races from NASCAR, the No. 1 motorsport in the US, where it would have easily taken a top 10 spot.

New partner Roku, America’s #1 TV streaming platform** and the streaming home of Formula E in the US, featured the race prominently on its Home Screen and Sports Zone, and created a dedicated Formula E Zone to immerse audiences in all things Formula E. The experience featured a variety of programming including the live race, highlights and previews, series such as Formula E Unplugged, and a new post-race program Recharge, which streams exclusively on The Roku Channel.

The UK also saw a major increase of 29% over 2023 on the new partner network TNT Sports. China, Mexico, Canada, and Brazil also seeing significant increases.

Social Media Success

Social Media is obviously one of the most important factors in a brand’s success. Formula E’s Social Media saw an incredible 205% increase year over year. Even the website https://www.fiaformulae.com/en saw its busiest day since its launch.

An Instagram Reel became the championship’s most-viewed social content of all time, with more than 25m views so far. Posted in the Mexico City race week, it features TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team driver, António Félix da Costa, promoting the new Formula E Unplugged docu-series.
