Rajah Caruth wins 1st career Truck Series Race at Las Vegas

Rajah Caruth won the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 at Las Vegas Speedway on Friday night after starting the race off from the pole position.

Caruth would lead 38 laps and finish 2nd in Stage 2 as well as 3rd in Stage 2. He would take the lead with 20 laps to go and hold the Tyler Ankrum in his McAnally-Hilgemann Chevrolet to capture his 1st career NCTS win by 0.851 seconds.

This would make him the third-ever African-American NASCAR driver to win an event, putting his name in the record books with Wendell Scott and Bubba Wallace.

The 21-year-old from Washington D.C. had this to say after his win:

“It’s surreal, said Rajah Caurth. “Thanks so much to HendrickCars.Com and Mr. H (Rick Hendrick) for putting me in this thing all year, and with the men and women at Spire.”

This win locked Caruth into the Truck Series playoffs where he is 4th in points currently behind points leader Tyler Ankrum, Ty Majeski in 2nd, and Corey Heim in 3rd.

Next up: Bristol Motor Speedway on March 16th at 8 pm EST on FS1.

Congrats on the win, Rajah!
