Behind the wheel of his yellow DHL Pride No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, Alex Palou raced his way to the top of the pilon during practice for the 2024 Detroit Grand Prix. With a lap time of 1:01.721, Palou beat out O’Ward by 0.0105 seconds while running 0.0653 seconds faster than Colton Herta.

Despite not topping the lists of any of the three segments of the Detroit Street Course, Alex’s best was Segment 2, where he inched just behind O’Ward’s 0:20.725 with a segment time of 0:20.7874
