Starting in 2025, the NTT IndyCar Series will join the likes of the NASCAR Cup Series as they establish a new chartered system. 25 entries fielded by 10 owners will be guaranteed starting spots for every race of the season, with the exception of the Indianapolis 500.
The first charter system in America’s premier open-wheel racing series locks its terms in long-term until 2031. From now on, to qualify for NTT IndyCar’s Leaders Circle program, which compensates the top 22 finishers in the prior year’s championship, must be chartered teams.
