Although he did not need to win the race, Christian Eckes led 187 of 200 laps and felt he had to win the race for his team. This is the second time this season where Eckes has dominated Martinsville Speedway, and this time, he was willing to use the pumper to ensure he got the win.
Christian joins long locked in Grant Enfinger and the two drivers to point their way in, Ty Majeski and Corey Heim. So, let’s take a look at the Final 4 for the Craftsman Truck Series in 2024.
Grant Enfinger
Grant has had a great season in 2024, a pair of back-to-back wins and 7 Top-5s. On top of the Top-5s, Grant also has 12 Top-10s. His win at Talladega was the first win for his race team, CR7 Motorsports who debuted in 2018.
Grant has finished P.6 in the last two championship races at Phoenix Raceway including a runner-up championship standing just last season.
Corey Heim
Corey Heim made it Heim Time a series leading six times in 2024 starting at COTA and most recently Kansas in the Playoffs. Heim has the second highest stats in the series with 13 Top-5s and 17 Top-10s this season for TRICON Garage.
Although he does not have more than a single full-time season under his belt he does have a 7th place finish at Phoenix in 2022 despite in-race confrontations in 2023 while running for a championship against Carson Hocevar causing him to finish 16th.
Christian Eckes
If Corey Heim is the picture of competitiveness, Christian Eckes is the picture of consistency. Four wins in 2024 including his utter domination of both Martinsville races. He commands a series high 14 Top-5s and has only failed to finish in the Top-10 once when taken out early at Atlanta early in the season. His wins or Top-5s at all but one short track this season put him as arguably the favorite to win the championship this season.
Christian Eckes won the championship race at Phoenix last season, which helps cement him to that favorite. Despite a DNF in 2022, he has never finished worse than 4th at the desert track.
Ty Majeski
Ty Majeski comes into Phoenix with a pair of short track wins, 9 Top-5s and 13 Top-10s. He is a consistent threat at short tracks which gives ThorSport Racing and Ford Performance fans hope of a back-to-back title opportunity.
Ty Majeski made the Final 4 back in 2022 in his first full-time Craftsman Truck Series season, but has never had a finish better than 11th at Phoenix in 2019 or 14th since it has been the season ending race.
