Porsche Penske Motorsport Earn Back to Back Rolex 24 Wins

Amid the chilly wind conditions and a cold race track, the #7 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 became outright champions as the 63rd annual Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, courtesy of drivers Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy, and Laurens Vanthoor. Nasr overtook and fended off teammate and former co-driver Matt Campbell, along with a hard-charging Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian Acura driver Tom Blomqvist, and Nasr got the job done.

Team Penske earned their third overall Daytona 24-Hour win and second in a row. Porsche extended their all-time winning record at Daytona to 20.

Claiming class victory in LMP2, the #8 Tower Motorsports Oreca 07 driven by Sébastien Bourdais, John Farano, Sebastian Alvarez, and Job Van Uitert took advantage of late-race full course yellow interventions to stretch out the fuel runs.

In GTD Pro, a very physical bout between four different manufacturers broke out in the final hours, but in the end it was the #65 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Mustang GT3 driven by Dennis Olsen, Christopher Mies, and Frederic Vervisch.

The GTD class was an open book of competition between several teams from start to finish. A late race safety car played a role in the closing stages of the race, where the #13 AWA Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R driven by Orey Fidani, Matthew Bell, Lars Kern, and Marvin Kirchhöfer came out on top.
