Meet the full-time drivers of the IndyCar circuit for 2025. There will be other drivers that will be racing at the Indy 500, but this is solely focusing on the full-time drivers. They are broken down by team, by driver, and how they’ve done throughout their time in IndyCar along with highlighting some of their other racing accomplishments.
AJ Foyt Racing
#14 Santino Ferrucci
Santino enters his third straight year with AJ Foyt Racing, albeit with his third different teammate. Ferrucci, a staple with AJ Foyt Racing, has gotten better and better, and while he faced his fair share of controversy last season, he continues to battle with the biggest and best of Indycar. Santino has never finished outside of the top 10 at the Indy 500 in six races, finished in 3rd at the 2023 Indy 500, and won his first pole at Portland last season.
#4 David Malukas
David Malukas comes to AJ Foyt Racing for his first season with this new team, and what a trip it’s been for “Lil Dave,” who spent his time coming up with HMD Motorsports and Dale Coyne Racing. In 2024, Malukas signed a contract with Arrow McLaren, but a freak bicycle accident took Malukas out of his seat with McLaren, and Dave spent the rest of 2024 with Meyer Shank. In 2025, Malukas signed a multiyear contract with AJ Foyt Racing to drive the #4. Malukas’ best finishes have come at WWT Raceway, where he finished 2nd in 2022 and 3rd in 2023. He has 11 top-10 finishes.
Andretti Global
#26 Colton Herta
This feels like a make-or-break year for Colton Herta. The 24-year-old enters his 7th full-time season in Indycar and is in his fifth year in the #26. Herta is the youngest person ever to win an Indycar race and has nine wins with 18 podiums. He finished in second place in the championship standings last year following a strong finish to his season with wins at Nashville and Toronto and a podium at Milwaukee. Colton Herta feels that this is the year that not only can he contend for a championship but also an Indy 500 win.

Kyle Kirkwood enters his fourth season in IndyCar, finishing seventh in points last season. The Jupiter, Florida native started with Andretti in the Indy Lights series before he spent a year with AJ Foyt racing. Arrow Mclaren
#5 Pato O’Ward
Oh, Pato! One of the biggest names in Indycar racing right now, O’Ward joined Arrow McLaren in 2020 after a brief stint with Carlin Motorsport. In his first year with Arrow McLaren, O’ Ward would podium four times and finish the season fourth in points. In 2021, Pato would win twice but come up short at the 500 and finish with his highest points finish of his career when he finished the year in 3rd. In 2022, Pato would again win twice–once at Barber and Iowa. In 2023, the Mexican driver would podium seven times but not win a race, finishing the year in fourth place, and last season, Pato would again come up just short at the Indy 500, as Josef Newgarden would go around him on the last lap to secure back to back wins. Pato O’ Ward has seven wins in his career and 26 podiums.
#6 Nolan Siegel
Arrow McLaren went through a lot of turmoil this last season as they dealt with injuries, change over, and fought through adversity. AM had signed David Malukas before the season started, but a bike accident took out Malukas, and Zak Brown, AM CEO, had to scramble to find other drivers at the start of the season. One driver they turned to throughout the year was Indy NXT star Nolan Siegel. Siegel spent time with Dale Coyne Racing in 2024 but officially signed with AM on June 18th. Siegel is one of the youngest drivers on the circuit, and his best finish was seventh last year at WWT Raceway in Madison, Illinois. He will start what he hopes is his first full-time season in Papaya.

The Danish driver enters his fifth season in IndyCar but his first with Arrow McLaren. The 23-year-old has been with Rahal Letterman Lanigan racing since he came to Indycar back in 2021. Lundgaard won his first race in 2023 at Toronto shaving his mustache after he promised to have it until he won a race. Since then, Lundgaard has had a podium finish at the Indy Road Course but has struggled to find consistency. He’s hoping to have that with this move to Arrow McLaren. He will replace Alexander Rossi in the #7. Lundgaard has 1 win, 3 podiums, and 2 poles.
Chip Ganassi Racing
#8 Kyffin Simpson
Kyffin Simpson is a Cayman Islands native, who was born in Barbados. He enters his second season in Indycar and his best result was a 12th at St. Pete. The 20-year-old is looking for a strong sophomore campaign and seeking his first top ten. While Simpson has struggled in his rookie season, he did find success in other avenues including Le Mans and IMSA.
#9 Scott Dixon
The oldest racer in the circuit at 44, the New Zealander hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. The “Iceman” has been dominating in Indycar longer than his teammate has been alive. Since then, Dixie has rattled off a leading 56 more wins, winning at least one race every year since 2005. AJ Foyt has Dixon by nine wins, and time is running out for Scott to catch him. Dixon also trails Foyt by championships with six to AJ’s 7. He also has won 1 Indy 500 but has come up just short multiple times. Dixon has 57 wins (+1 in his Champ days), 140 podiums, and 32 poles.
#10 Alex Palou
The most dominant name in racing right now. Alex Palou has won three championships, including the last two years (2023 and 2024), and simply just doesn’t make mistakes on the track. The Spaniard has run 81 races in 5 seasons and has 12 wins to his name. The biggest number to that, though, is Alex Palou has more podiums than finishes outside of the top 10. Since moving from Dale Coyne Racing to CGR in 2021, he has only gotten better. in 2023, Palou didn’t have a finish outside of the top ten and podiumed that year in ten races, winning three in a row and four out of five. It has been a career of ups and downs for Alex Rossi as he has seen the best of the best winning the 100th Indianapolis 500 to having some rough years at Arrow Mclaren, he has really seen it all. Rossi struggled in papaya, with only two podiums and no victories. Like many others, Alex raced in Formula 1 before coming to Indycar. In 2024, Rosenqvist moved to Meyer Shank Racing, where he finally felt like he was the lead driver for the team. #66 Marcus Armstrong
Another New Zealander, Marcus Armstrong, has spent time with Chip Ganassi Racing before joining Meyer Shank this season due to Indycar cutting teams to a maximum of three drivers. The 24-year-old came to IndyCar from FIA, where he spent time in Formula 3. In October of 2022, Armstrong tested with Dale Coyne Racing. While with Arrow McLaren, Ilott tested the new hybrid engine along with racing in St. Pete and at the Indianapolis 500, where he placed 11th. Last year, Ilott also spent time with the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he also secured one win in 8 races.

Team Penske
#2 Josef Newgarden
Josef Newgarden was not thrilled with how this last season went. Despite winning back-to-back Indy 500s, the Tennesse native struggled to find consistency and his season really stopped before it got started as a push-to-pass scandal broke and cost Josef a win. Newgarden did win at WWT Raceway and finished in second at Road America, but overall the 34 did not have the season many expected him to. Newgarden is entering his ninth year with Team Penske, and with a podium finish at Nashville, JoNew is looking to enter 2025 strong with a third straight Indy 500 looming large in the forefront. Josef has two championships, 31 wins, 58 podiums, and 18 poles.
#3 Scott McLaughlin
The Thirsty 3s enter the 2025 season hungry. After becoming a “real IndyCar driver” with a win at Iowa, McLaughlin continued his oval success with another win at Milwaukee. Scott has been with Team Penske since 2020, registering his first win at St. Pete in 2022. The New Zealander has finished in third in the last two straight seasons and feels that 2025 will be a huge year for the up-and-coming IndyCar star. In Indycar, Scott McLaughlin has seven wins, 19 podiums, and nine poles
#12 Will Power
Will Power comes into 2025 in a contract year looking to build on a huge rebounding year in 2024. 2023 wasn’t a great year for Power, but he came back strong in 2024, registering his first win since 2022 at Detroit. The Aussie raced in Champ Car for three seasons before moving over to IndyCar in 2008 for KV Racing. He joined Team Penske in 2009 in a limited capacity and full-time in 2010. Since then, the “King of Poles” has become one of the most successful drivers in all of racing, sitting fourth all-time in wins, first all-time in poles, and fourth all-time in podiums. Will won three races this last season, finishing fourth in the standings. The 43-year-old hopes–no, knows–he has something left in the tank. Will Power has 42 wins, 99 podiums, and 64 poles.
