A Look at Hailie Deegan’s Indy NXT Season

Hailie Deegan is best known for her three and a half seasons in NASCAR’s Craftsman Truck and Xfinity Series, where she had a bit less success than most would have hoped. Hailie scored five top-10 finishes in the Craftsman Truck Series before moving on to the Xfinity Series for 2024 for AM Racing. After the Nashville race, race number 17 of the 2024 season, Hailie and AM Racing split with a breaking announcement that Joey Logano would take her place at the Chicago Street Course. Not much was said about Hailie after that.

In 2025, Hailie Deegan made her Indy NXT debut at St. Petersburg. NXT is the development division of the NTT IndyCar Series that unfortunately gets very little fanfare. Deegan would finish in what is so far her best position of 14th at St. Pete, and after four races of the season, sits 19th in the points standings.

Deegan has finished 14th, 17th, 17th, and 18th so far in her four starts on road and street courses. The next race at World Wide Technology Raceway (Gateway) just outside St. Louis will be the series’ first oval race of 2025. Hopefully, Hailie can use some of her vast oval experience to turn her season around.
