Colton Herta wins his second P1 award in a row on the banks of the Detroit River. He outpaced David Malukas by two tenths of a second for a lap time of 1:00.4779, while the Fast Six was rounded off by the season dominating Alex Palou with a 1:01.468 lap. Malukas was ahead of Herta coming out of turn 3, but Herta pulled away just enough to score the Pole.
Herta let everyone know he was embarrassed to associate with cheating following the Andretti Global penalties at Indy last week. This Pole should help erase some of those ill feelings and help the 26 team move forward this season.
