Three times a Champion.
Matt Crafton has been a fixture in the Craftsman Truck Series in NASCAR since the final race of the 2000 CTS season. Since then, Matt has competed in every single Craftsom Truck Series event, and he’s even won 15 of them. An Ironman record that will likely never be seen again, Matt will have competed in 592 consecutive races by the end of the 2025 season. Matt has raced all but one of those seasons with ThorSport Racing, where he has brought the team three of their seven Championships.
Today, ThorSport Racing dropped a major bombshell. At the end of the 2025 season, Matt Crafton will complete his final Full-time season in the No. 88 Menards F-150. Matt and Menards have the longest-running driver/primary relationship in NASCAR history. Phoenix will mark the end of the 23rd season of the pairing. But with performance dwindling from behind the wheel and growing competition from younger drivers, it was only a matter of time until the announcement was made; however, the end of 2025 was not on my Bingo card.
Starting at Daytona in February, the 2024 series champion, Ty Majeski, will make the move to the iconic 88 truck. It is not yet known if Menards will continue as primary for the 88 and Majeski or if one of Ty’s current sponsors will make the move with him.
To date, Matt Crafton’s career has given him second all-time in series championships with 3, 16 Poles, 328 Top 10s, 15 wins, and 2,716 laps led. Atop the CTS starts, he has made 4 Xfinity Starts with 3 Top 10s, as well as 3 Cup Series starts.
