Gateway was the final race of the Regular Season for the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025, so it was a hell of a battle from those who needed to get the race win in one last-ditch effort to qualify for the 2025 Playoffs. On top of qualifying for the Playoffs, it was a significant battle for the Regular Season Championship between teammates Zilisch and Allgaier. In the end, Connor Zilisch would win his fourth race in a row and the ninth of the season, tying the record for wins in a single season for a rookie.

During a restart, Justin Allgaier would get taken out of contention, handing the Regular Season Championship to his teammate. During late race restarts, Zilisch would hold off charges from desperate drivers such as William Sawalich.
