The final four is set for Phoenix. Denny Hamlin, William Byron, Kyle Larson, and Chase Briscoe have survived the first three rounds of the playoffs. Each driver deserves to be in the final four, but which will continue me out victorious?
Why Denny Hamlin will win the championship.
Hamlin has the most wins in Cup this season with six. His crew makes the right adjustments at the right time as seen in Las Vegas. A mix of performance and a smart crew can vault Hamlin to his first championship.
Why Denny Hamlin won’t win the championship.
Performance has been hit or miss in the playoffs. Has four finishes of 23rd or lower in the nine playoff races. His win at Las Vegas saved him. In the round of 8, his finishes are 1, 24, 35, not exactly great momentum going into the
Why Chase Briscoe will win the championship
Briscoe has had a quiet but strong season. He’s a contender that nobody is talking about, even though he leads NASCAR in top-five finishes at 15. Qualifying will be important this weekend, and Broscoe has seven poles so far this season. He has the highest average starting in the final four. He has momentum, scoring five top-five finishes in nine playoff races this season. Briscoe’s consistency can vault him to the championship.
Why Chase Briscoe won’t win the championship
His performance at Phoenix is either abysmal or spectacular. He has one win, four top ten finishes, and five of 22nd or worse. It’s a coin flip on whether he will be up front or way in the back.
Why William Byron will win the championship
Byron was the regular-season champion. Don’t be deceived by playoff finishes in the round of 8. If it wasn’t for getting spun at Talladega or Ty Dillon stopping on the track, he’d have five top 10s in the last six races. He dominates a must-win race after a string of bad luck. He’s carrying momentum into the final race.
Why William Byron won’t win the championship
Byron is probably the unluckiest driver in the final four. He ran out of gas at Michigan, had one of the most bizarre accidents in NASCAR history at Las Vegas, and spun out in the trioval at Talladega on the final lap. The bad luck this season could follow him to a race where there are no second chances.
Why Kyle Larson will win the championship
Larson is heating up at the right time. He’s scored three top-five finishes in the last four races. He comes into this race as the underdog; pressure isn’t as high on him as in seasons past. They are thankful to be in the final four. A team with nothing to lose is a dangerous one.
Why Kyle Larson won’t win the championship
Did you know Larson’s last win was in mid-May? He’s been close on multiple occasions, but can’t get the win. This slump will cost him the championship.
