The 2025 NASCAR season is in the books. Here are some of my personal awards for the season.
The Four-Leaf Clover Award
The four-leaf clover award is for NASCAR’s most fortunate driver. This season it’s Kyle Larson for a timely caution helping him secure his 2nd championship.
Honorable mention is Joey Logano for being saved twice by Denny Hamlin during the playoffs.
The Shattered Mirror Award
The shattered mirror award is for NASCAR’s least fortunate driver. This award goes to Bubba Wallace. He had 9 DNFs, accounting for 25% of the races this season. He was also punted by his boss costing him a round 8 appearance.
Honorable mention is William Byron. Ran out of gas at Michigan while leading, crashed out in Las Vegas while running second, spun in trioval at Talladega while running up front, cut a tire while running second
The Clutch Award
The award is for the driver with the most clutch performance in a race. The winner at Martinsville is William Byron. After two unfortunate races in the Round of 8, Byron dominated Martinsville to make the Final Four.
Honorable mention is Bubba Wallace at Indianapolis. Held off Kyle Larson on two restarts with dangerously low fuel.
The Fumble Award
Award given to the driver who had a string of bad races. The award goes to Josh Berry for Round 1 of the playoffs. He scored four points in round one.
Most Dominant Moment
SVG wins this award for his performance in Mexico. Winning by over 16 seconds, the largest margin since 2009.
Most Lackluster Moment
In-season tournament final of Ty Dillion vs Ty Gibbs. Neither driver did well this season.
Flash in the Pan Award
Austin Dillon had one top 5 this season, a dominating win at Richmond. Other than that, his season was quiet.
The Weirdest Stat Award
Cody Ware leads 23 laps at Daytona. This number was higher than the laps lead in his career to this point.
