Patrick Schober is a four-year veteran of the NASCAR Europe Series. He’s collected 46 wins and 6 championships in various series throughout his career. The young driver says goodbye to the series for 2026, moving to the McLaren Trophy. The 21-year-old Slovakian-Austrian graciously gave us an insight into how NASCAR runs in Europe.
“NASCAR Europe is a 6-race season that costs between $80,000 and $120,000. I raced in the open series, where there are two drivers per car. I’d race the morning race, while my teammate races the afternoon event. Races in the open series take 30 to 45 minutes. All races are on road courses; we only ran one oval in 2024.” Schober said.
NASCAR Europe has a buzzing fan scene.
“My favorite track is Brands Hatch in England. 50,000 fans come. The series is a fun experience for fans. Fans are allowed in pits, we put kids in the cars, there are car shows, autograph sessions, people in costumes, we chat with fans, and fans get free access to the starting grid.” Schober said.
Schober is dedicated to racing and to family.
“I work at the Red Bull Ring in Austria as a driving instructor, as well as in sim racing. I love to spend time with family and build Star Wars Legos in my free time.” Schober said.
