Ava Hanssen Racing is a small team based in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. They are a second-year team in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship. 

This team consists of three employees. Tim Hanssen serves as a mechanic, crew chief, and other roles. Sarah Hanssen serves as the backbone of the team. Ava Hanssen serves as the driver. Racing in this series is a culmination of a life dedicated to racing.

“Ava has been go-karting since she was four. We took her to the track, and she enjoyed it.” Tim Hanssen said.

Ava’s goal is to move up into the F1 Academy, but she stated she just wants to be a professional race car driver, no matter the series. Ava understood the bond the family shares.

“I love how we grow together as a family and team. We may not always have the right tools or the correct knowledge, but we learn together.” Ava Hanssen said. 

Tim Hanssen noted that his wife, Sarah, is the star of the team. 

“She packs the motorhome, makes sure we have enough food, helps me under the tent with the car and on pit road, helps Ava get ready to get into the car. She is the best tire person on the pit wall I know.   Just like most moms, she fills a lot of shoes.” Tim Hanssen said.
