Leaving Pocono Raceway this past Friday, Ryan Vargas and the No. 91 Maples Motorsports team have proven that smaller teams, in fact, can compete in the ARCA Menards Series. They sit P3 with a clear title shot at only 33 points back. Until today. Today, Ryan Vargas took to social media to announce that he will not be pursuing the 2026 ARCA Menards Series Championship.
In what he called a “sad announcement,” Ryan thanked the team at Maples Motorsports, the fans, and industry members who have helped him get to this point. He stated that he knew full-time was never truly in the cards, and that they tried their “darndest” to secure the funding to do so. But, as with many motorsport journeys, funding couldn’t be found.
Ryan made it clear that he and the 91 team would continue to run sporadically throughout the season in more of an anchor-driver role, as they had planned earlier in the season. With 315 points earned, 6 points outside of second, and 27 points ahead of fourth. Vargas has four Top 10 finishes in the National Series, plus a top-10 at Toledo in the East Series.
