During the long second red flag of the afternoon for the 2026 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race on US Naval Base Coronado, we all lay witness to something we haven’t seen in years. A drunk fan climbed the fence overlooking the track and ran onto the racing surface.

The fan walked onto the track and proceeded to approach the window of OAPS driver, Sheldon Creed. Creed stated that the fan gave him a fist bump, and Creed said over his radio, “I think he’s wasted.”

The fan was chased by the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) after he climbed the fence back into the crowd wearing his flip flops and promptly arrested.
