Chandler Smith is in his second season with Front Row Motorsports in the Craftsman Truck Series and last weekend scored his second win of the season for the team. Tuesday, it was announced that Chandler will not be returning to the team for the 2027 season.
With four wins for FRM and a playoff appearance in his first season, Chandler is also a multi-time winner in the O’Reilly AP Series. He is currently running 3rd in the points and one of only three drivers locked into the Chase so far. The entire 38 team is looking to win the 2026 title, but his 2027 plans are widely speculated to be to return to the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
As of today, Chandler Smith is likely to fill one of the pair of Richard Childress Racing OAPS cars. Jesse Love is moving to Cup, and it is speculated that Austin Hill could stay in the 33 Cup car for RCR. That would mean the team needs 2 drivers. Carson Brown is rumored to be moving to the other OAPS car as a teammate.
