The Roush Automotive Collection is one of the greatest collections of automobiles anywhere in the world. The collection itself is based in my hometown of Livonia, MI, and is a collection of not only Roush Performance vehicles but also other automotive and motorsport treasures from around the world.
In Nashville this weekend, multitudes of items ranging from Indian motorcycles to NASCAR Cup cars were auctioned off. Here are just a few of the motorsport vehicles auctioned off in Music City, USA.
Colin Braun’s First Craftsman Truck Series Winning Truck
SOLD – $46,200
Roush Fenway Racing chassis No. RK319-43 won at Jack Roush’s home track of MIS, in 2009. Braun’s first and only win was the 50th win for the Cat in the Hat in the series.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr’s First Nationwide Series Victory Mustang
SOLD – $60,500
In 2011, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. scored his first career Nationwide Series victory for Jack Roush behind the wheel of this Mustang GT at Iowa Speedway.
2004 Greg Biffle Ford Taurus Auctioned for the Biffle Family Legacy Fund
SOLD – $51,700
Roush Chassis No. RK-195 was raced by the late Greg Biffle during the 2004 Cup Series season. The car is wrapped in the National Guard scheme that helped make Greg very noticeable in the mid-2000s.

Paul Newman’s 1995 IMSA ROLEX 24 Mustang Cobra
SOLD – $935,000
“Nobody’s Fool” was raced at the 1995 Rolex Daytona 24 Hours by Tommy Kendall, Mark Martin, Michael Brockman, and actor and racer Paul Newman. The #70 was used in honor of Newman’s 70th birthday, while sponsorship came from Paramount in support of the newly released film Nobody’s Fool.
Roush’s 100th Nationwide Victory Ford Fusion
SOLD – $27,500
This is Roush Chassis No. RK-216 raced by Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, and Carl Edwards, and became victorious over several seasons, including the 2005 Arizona 200 at Phoenix and the 100th Nationwide victory for Roush Fenway Racing at Phoenix in 2009.
Matt Kenseth’s 2003 Backup Road Course Chassis
SOLD – $58,300
Chassis No. RK-174 is the only known example of Matt Kenseth’s road racing scheme from his Championship-winning season. It is a slight veriation of the famous black and yellow DeWalt scheme run by Kenseth over several seasons.
The First Ford Mustang to win a NASCAR Nationwide Series Race
SOLD – $73,700
Chassis No. RK-638 was the first Mustang of the modern era to win a NASCAR race. The car was run at the 2011 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series 300 at Texas Motor Speedway by Carl Edwards, making it only the second-ever NASCAR win for a Ford Mustang. The first since 1971.
