Alfa Romeo’s F1 Team Gets Another Name Change for 2024

Alfa Romeo makes a change with the addition of Australian streaming platform Kick.com for 2024, acquiring chassis naming rights for the 2024 & 2025 seasons.

The team has gone through a few name changes over the last 3 decades: from Sauber to BMW Sauber, back to Sauber, then to Alfa Romeo, and now to Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber. Now, I’m new to F1, but I do know that teams change names with some sort of frequency here. This is the opposite of a sport like NASCAR, where teams will generally only change names once or twice in their history, if at all.

Today, Sauber Motorsports announced that their major partner, Kick.com, has acquired naming rights for the team’s new chassis. That chassis will now be called the KICK Sauber C44. Kick.com’s branding has already been seen on the livery of the racecars after making the announcement the streaming platform would become a major partner in 2023.
