The last week of NASCAR Silly Season news has been a lot, and we might have missed some, so here’s a run of the last week of racing news and updates from today.

Today’s News

Brad Perez joins Alpha Prime Racing:

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Brad Perez has joined Alpha Prime Racing on a part-time basis for the 2024 season and will be piloting their No. 45 entry, with the first race being at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).

He will also be the team’s reserve driver as well as joining Young’s Motorsports as a Tire Specialist.

Kaulig Racing and Trackhouse Crew Chief Swap:

NASCAR Cup Series Crew Chief Travis Mack will be joining Kaulig Racing and be a crew chief/Technical Director for the No.16 in 2024.

Mack was CC for the No. 99 of Daniel Suarez and Trackhouse Racing since 2021.

NASCAR Cup Series Crew Chief Matt Swiderski joins Trackhouse for the 2024 season and will be crew chief for the No. 99 of Daniel Suarez.

He was the Crew Chief for the No. 16 of AJ Allmendinger in 2023.

Spencer Boyd Forms Freedom Racing Enterprises:

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Veteran Spencer Boyd will be driving the No. 76 Chevrolet Silverado in 2024 as the driver and co-owner of FRE.

The team has equipment from the now defunct GMS Racing team as well as Owner Points from the No. 43 Team, which will help them for the 1st 3 races of the 2023 season (Daytona, Atlanta, and Las Vegas).

Jake Finch joining Venturini Motorsports in 2024:

Jake Finch, ARCA Menards Series driver and son of former NASCAR Cup Series owner James Finch, will be joining Venturini Motorsports for 6 races for the upcoming ARCA Menards Series season, including the season opener at Daytona.

Finch will also be piloting the No. 20 Toyota Camry at Talladega, Kansas, Salem, Michigan, and Watkins Glen.

Josh Bilicki joins DGM Racing:

NASCAR Xfinity Series Driver Josh Bilicki will be driving the No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro on a part-time schedule for the 2024 season, starting with Daytona in February and other races throughout the 2024 campaign.

Lawless Alan not returning to Niece:

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Lawless Alan and Niece Motorsports have parted ways after 2 ½ years.

Alan drove the No. 45 entry for them since 2021, when he joined the team for 4 races during the end of the season.

He finished 22nd in points in 2023 with a Top 10 finish (10th) at Talladega.

SVG and Andretti joining the ARCA Daytona Test

Shane Van Gisbergen and Marco Andretti will be testing in the upcoming ARCA Menards Series test at Daytona.

SVG will be running the No. 28 for Pinnacle Racing Group, and Andretti will be running the No.42 for Cook Racing Technologies.

Silly Season isn’t over yet, so stay tuned for more news to be announced in the following weeks, as we are almost a month away from the cars headed to Daytona.
