NASCAR Euro Series Driver Gil Linster Will Attempt the ARCA Daytona 200

Gil Linster, who currently races the No. 50 Toyota Camry for Henriks Motorsport in the EuroNASCAR 2 division of the NASCAR Euro Series, has scored an opportunity in America to race on the biggest stage in the sport.

One of the top drivers in the sport will make a move over to the US next month to attempt the ARCA Menards Series, Daytona 200. Linster has partnered up with Kimmel Racing to field the team’s No. 68 Ford Mustang the day before the iconic Daytona 500. Linster got his Superspeedway license during the official ARCA test session at Daytona International Speedway 2 weekends ago.

The 30-year-old Luxembourger got his start in the Euro Series back in 2017 and scored his first race win for Hendriks Motorsport last season. He has a little experience in the US after running some late models on short tracks, but Daytona will be the biggest attempt of his career.

“A partner confirmed being on board for the ARCA race today,” said Linster, who still needs to qualify for a spot in the 34-car field. “We will officially be part of the ARCA Menards Series Daytona 200. I’m really happy about this but I have no time to celebrate because there’s a lot of work coming in the next few weeks. We have to develop the design of the car, my racing suit and the helmet. We will sign the contracts, and then I will pack my bag and travel to Daytona. The company is also interested in being my partner at selected EuroNASCAR races.”

Following an upcoming announcement, Linster will return to the Euro Series, where they will begin their season in April at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. All races will be broadcast on the EuroNASCAR YouTube channel.
