The Day Early Busch Light Clash TV & Attendance Numbers are in! And They are not That Bad

NASCAR was forced to make unprecedented decisions on Saturday. The sanctioning body had to cancel the Heat races and the last-chance qualifiers for the Busch Light Clash and move the entire event up a full 24 hours due to severe weather. They did so with only a 5-hour heads up. Moving a race forward by that much has never been done in the history of the sport.

Despite all of that, the event was fairly successful, given the situation. Per Elton Sawyer, NASCAR’s Vice President of Competition on Serius XM’s The Morning Drive, the event attracted over 14,000 fans to the stands.

On the TV side, the event attracted 1.511 million viewers for Saturday’s rushed race. Obviously, 24 hours early on a different network with 5 hours heads up, it cannot be compared to the 2022 or 2023 events (’22 4.283 million & ’23 3.647 million).

Also, per Sawyer, the Clash will not return to the Coliseum but will return to Southern California in 2025, with a venue to be announced at a later date.
