100 Wins for the Wood Brothers: A Look at the Winners

The Wood Brothers Racing team is the longest continually operated team, not only in the Cup Series, but all of NASCAR. Wood Brothers Racing formed in 1950 by brothers Clay, Ray Lee, Glen and Leonard Wood. The Wood Brothers have raced Ford and Ford products in both the Craftsman Truck Series as well as each of the NASCAR Grand National, Winston Cup, Nextel Cup, Sprint Cup, Monster Energy Cup and NASCAR Cup Series eras.

The brothers ran their first NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville in May of 1953 with Glen Wood behind the wheel where he would bring the family race car home in 30th place. The team would score 38 wins prior to the Modern Era in NASCAR starting in 1972.

The team amassed 62 of their wins over the 52 year Modern Era and Next Gen Era’s of the Cup Series from AJ Foyt in 1972-2024 with the most recent race winner, Harrison Burton at Daytona. Both AJ and Harrison have wins for WBR at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway.
