Racing is a dangerous sport, we all know that, but it does not need to be intentionally dangerous. Wrecking another driver out of frustration makes it intentionally dangerous. This past weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the driver of the No. 66 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, Connor Jones did just that. Following his actions at Homestead-Miami Speedway that resulted in the injury and hospitalization of competitor Matt Mills.
Jones will be suspended for his violation of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct at Homestead-Miami Speedway for a this weekend’s race at Martinsville Speedway. Veteran and former ThorSport driver Johnny Sauter is listed as the driver for the 66 truck for Martinsville, he was previously listed as the driver of the No. 16 for Hattori, which is now listed as TBA.
Jones currently ranks in the 30th position in the 2024 Craftsman Truck Series standings after making 12 of the 21 season starts. Mills on the other hand sits 23rd in points with 1 Top-5 and a pair of Top-10s.
