Team owners, crews and drivers in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series have been hoping for growing purses for some time now. NASCAR instead are putting restrictions on the teams fire suits instead according to Matt Weaver.
Aimed at limiting costs on the team, NASCAR is mandating changes and limits to the fire suits for both over the wall and behind the wall crew members for 2025. NASCAR will limit teams to a single design for either job that must be submitted.
Over the wall crews will require a single design used all season long with sponsorship branding allowed.
Behind the wall crews are limited however to generic designs with sponsorship branding not allowed and must be consistent throughout the entire organization. (i.e. All Spire teams must match) Crew uniforms are encouraged to, but are not required to feature major supporters such as Sunoco, Goodyear, NASCAR or Craftsman.
These rules are put in place to keep teams from spending money on one off uniforms for single races or teams with multiple sponsors from purchasing multiple firesuites per crew member.
