For the second year in a row, William Byron, who started his racing career on iRacing, wins the Daytona 500. William’s 2025 500 win is the young driver’s third at Daytona and the first back-to-back 500 win since Denny Hamlin did it in 2019 and 2020 and is the youngest back-to-back winner in the race’s history.
During his post race interview, Byron admitted to FOX that it was all luck there at the end. His win is the 14th of his career and even bigger of a stat, the tenth Daytona 500 win for Hendrick Motorsports. Hendrick’s tenth is the most in NASCAR history, breaking their tie with Petty Enterprises. Byron’s win also makes it five Daytona 500 victories for the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24.
Byron led ten laps on his way to victory at The Great American Race, and with a little of his previously mentioned luck, was one of only six cars not to be involved in a wreck this evening.
