Chase Briscoe’s Daytona 500 Penalty Overturned

“Biggest points day of my career…” Chase Briscoe joked on his X account after discovering that the appeals board had reversed NASCAR’s decision to penalize the No. 19 team 100 points following the 2025 Daytona 500.

“The panel believes that the elongation of some of the holes on the number 19 Cup car spoiler base is caused by the process of attaching that specific spoiler base to the rear deck and not modification of the single source part”

Briscoe’s 100-point penalty left him easily dead last in the Cup Series standings at -28 points (negative) after the season’s first three races. That’s 46th position in points. With the overturn, Briscoe now sits with 72 points on the season, tied for 15th with Carson Hocevar.
