Rico Abreu was strong from the get-go, passing Christopher Bell in the early stages at Grandview Speedway. Abreu managed to hold on to the lead through several cautions. But the biggest challenge came in the waning laps from Brad Sweet. Sweet passed Bell with about 5 laps to go and turned up the wick. Sweet had closed by 0.7 seconds just a lap later. As Abreu was caught behind a bit of traffic, Sweet closed the remaining 1.1 seconds. Sweet sent it into turn 3 and came up just short with Abreu just edging him out at the line by 0.16 seconds.
Million Dollar Man Comes Up Short
Fresh off a massive win in the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Christopher Bell put forth a strong effort. He clinched the pole for the A-Main by winning the Dash (which sets the Top-6 to 7 spots for the A-Main). Bell started off the Feature strong by leading the first 8 Laps. Rico Abreu proved to be the car to beat as he took over the lead and never looked back despite the aforementioned late charge from Brad Sweet.
