2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Fast Facts

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix is in its third year back in the City of Detroit following many years on nearby Belle Isle. This will be our second year covering the full weekend that includes the NTT IndyCar Series, as well as Indy NXT and the IMSA Sports Car Series. Here is everything you need to know about the race weekend.

The Streets of Detroit Circuit is a 1.645-mile-long street course on the banks of the Detroit River surrounding the iconic General Motors world headquarters building, the Renaissance Center. The track is just about a quarter mile shorter than the legendary Long Beach circuit. The track has 9 turns on a counter-clockwise layout, loaded with over 240 manhole covers (Long Beach has seven).

The IndyCar race will be a 100-lap/170-mile event, while the Indy NXT race will be 45 laps or 55 minutes long.

Push to Pass Peramiters – Each car will have 150 seconds of Push to Pass, 15 seconds each. Indy NXT will offer 50 activations or 150 seconds of total time. Each activation

Hybrid Deployment Parameters – With unlimited activations, each lap offers a maximum of 425kJ per lap.

Defending Race Winners – NTT IndyCar – Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing
Indy NXT – Louis Foster of Andretti Global

Each team will be allotted 5 sets of Primary (black), 5 alternate (Green) tires, and teams fielding a rookie can have an additional set of Primary tires for IndyCar.

Broadcast Schedule

FOX will broadcast the IndyCar Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix while FS1 will air the Indy NXT Series.
