Willie Mullins gearing up for two straight short tracks in ARCA

One of ARCA’s fan favorites returns for two events in a row in the series, Willie Mullins. The 44-year-old veteran from Fredericksburg, Va., will compete in his #3 Toyota for the next two ARCA Menards Series races at Berlin Raceway in Michigan and Elko Speedway in Minnesota. For Berlin, Mullins will carry primary sponsorship from DP Custom Truck and Chrome, with Darrell Ferree serving as his crew chief. At Elko, Mullins will have primary sponsorship from CW Metals and veteran driver Will Kimmel as his crew chief.

Berlin will become the 13th different track Mullins has competed at across the ARCA Menards Series platform, which also includes the ARCA Menards Series East. Mullins, however, is no stranger to Elko, having made five prior starts at the 3/8-mile oval in ARCA competition. In those five starts, he has a best finish of eighth, which he scored twice in 2021 and 2023.

Mullins Racing was first opened in 2006 focusing mostly on road racing at first with Willie Mullins himself running multiple road racing series’ such as the SCCA V8 Grand National Series which he also won the championship for in 2006, as well as the V8 Road Racing Series and MARRS SPO series which he won the championship for in 2014. Mullins also began his career in ARCA in road racing, competing at New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2008, which he’d also compete at in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2016. Mullins would also go on to compete on the superspeedways in ARCA starting in 2016, and at Daytona in 2018, would score his best career finish to date in the series with a second-place showing. In 2024, he’d also score the pole at Daytona and lead nine laps before unfortunately being caught up in a hard crash with Scott Melton and finishing in 28th. In 2025, Mullins would make his tenth consecutive start at Daytona, starting in 22nd, but would unfortunately get caught up in an early big wreck on lap three, taking him out and finishing in 35th.

Recently, Mullins was also nominated and voted in to become part of the 2025 Hoosier Heroes class, which is set up by Hoosier Racing Tires to recognize some of the most dedicated figures within racing. Mullins is one of 12 members of the 2025 class, which was announced at the annual PRI show held every December in Indianapolis.

For Berlin, while a new track to Mullins is no stranger to short tracks in ARCA. In addition to his experience at Elko, he’s competed at other short tracks like the Nashville Fairgrounds, Salem, Toledo, New Smyrna, and Five Flags, where he even scored a top five in 2022. It should be noted, though, that Berlin, with 24 cars this week, does have its largest ARCA field since 2016, which had 25 cars entered. Elko, the following week, is also expected to have a similarly sized car count, which could put up more of a challenge for Mullins and fellow competitors. But Mullins is still determined to go out and run as hard as he can for the next two races on the ARCA Menards Series calendar. The ARCA Menards Series will visit Berlin Raceway for the Berlin ARCA 200 on Saturday, June 14 at 7 PM ET/6 PM CT and Elko Speedway for the Shore Lunch 250 presented by Dutch Boy on Saturday, June 21 at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT.
