Bubba Wallace won the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis. It wasn’t a rain win, or a fluke; he earned this one. Wallace showed his talent in this win.
He was able to save fuel when his team didn’t believe they would make it. He kept calm after the rain erased a large lead. He held off a hard-charging Kyle Larson on two separate restarts. He ran the best race of his career. Nobody can deny the win was earned, but some will.
If you read any comment section, you will find a mix of good, bad, and flat-out ridiculous comments. Below are the ridiculous examples taken from my TikTok video on the race.
“No, he lucked out. Clean air is the only reason. Five more laps, it’s a different story.”
“I think it’s all a scam. Someone who hardly ever finishes all of a sudden wins. Michael Jordan’s bank account is probably a few million lighter after paying for this.”
“5 years ago, he destroyed NASCAR over a lie.”
“He called everyone racist over a garage pull. Then, they said white flags are racist.”
I understand that people don’t like Bubba for their own reasons, but he won fair and square. Not only did he win, but it was a masterful performance. I don’t understand how people can’t acknowledge that. You can dislike the man, but you can’t deny the win.
