Christian Rasmussen Scores his Maiden IndyCar Victory at Milwaukee

The Milwaukee Mile has been home to some very special moments over its history, and today was another in the long line. Just 30 races into his young IndyCar racing career, the Dane from Copenhagen has scored his first win in the NTT IndyCar Series at Milwaukee.

After qualifying 10th, Christian Rasmussen got the luck of the racing Gods on his side after weather and with fresh tires, bolted through the field from 13th to first, leading 16 laps en route to his maiden victory. His audacious strategy turned into pure gold, passing O’Ward and Rossi and ultimately Alex Palou for the win. The 16 laps he led are the most he has ever led in his career.

With only the season finale at Nashville remaining, Christian’s victory spoiled Alex Palou’s bid to tie the single-season win record of 10. He leaves Wisconsin with 8.

For his team, Ed Carpenter Racing, Christian’s victory marks the first time the team has won in IndyCar since 2021, when Rinus VeeKay won at Indy and the 7th in the team’s history.
