NASty TV Ratings from New Hampshire

As we continue the push into the Playoffs, NASCAR has a significant challenge: the NFL. The NFL is the ratings god. No one can touch them. As NASCAR continues through one of the worst seasons in recent memory in terms of fan reaction, we continue to see the slump.

On the positive, New Hampshire this past weekend was one of the best races the track has seen in quite some time. Hell, we even had one of the sport’s most popular drivers, Ryan Blaney, win. But we continue to see the slump.

In 2024, the New Hampshire weekend had a 1.0 rating and an average of 1.88 million viewers. Well, I’m sure you can tell by the wording of this short piece that we have seen yet another slump. NASCAR’s fourth Playoff race of the season saw a drop to a .70 rating and 1.29 million average viewers.

In comparison, the Formula 1 race in Azerbaijan scored only a few fewer viewers, and they did so at 7 am for most Americans. They managed to attract an average of 1.1 million viewers in the US. Worst of all, all this negativity detracted from a major positive; attendance at the track for the event was fantastic! A sellout crowd for the boys of the Cup Series at New Hampshire.
