Since 1949, the NASCAR Strictly Stock Series, followed by the Grand National, then Winston Cup, Nextel/Sprint Cup, Monster Energy Cup, and now NASCAR Cup Series, has provided racing opportunities for over 3,600 drivers. In that time, 205 drivers have won a race. That means roughly 5% of all drivers in its history have won at least one race.
Currently, of the 36 full-time NASCAR Cup Series drivers, 25 have won a race in the highest series of Stock Car racing in the United States. That means that today’s Cup Series regulars account for 12.2% of all of the race wins in our sport’s history.
