With the field set by qualifying yesterday at Michigan International Speedway, we will see a pretty big shakeup with the starting grid for today’s FireKeepers Casino 400. Four cars will have to head to the back for the start due to mechanical issues and damage from practice.
Christopher Bell, Austin Cindric, and Denny Hamlin each had damage to their cars. Denny with the Pole will, of course, vacate that spot for Carson Hocevar to lead the race to green. As of now, William Byron is the only driver with a mechanical issue that will force him to the back. The 24 team has an issue with the charging system on the 24 car.
We saw last week that Denny was able to race his way from last to first when he won his 62nd career Cup win at Nashville, and he is no stranger to winning here at Michigan.
