With the infield selling out in record time in November, Michigan International Speedway announced just before 3 PM that they sold out the grandstands for the first time in many years.
After changes over the years, MIS has settled at just about 56,000 permanent seats.
“This sellout was made possible by the incredible passion of our loyal fans and the tremendous support of FireKeepers Casino and our partners,” said Joe Fowler, President of Michigan International Speedway. “From the camping areas to the grandstands, the electric atmosphere of a sold-out crowd will make for unforgettable memories for thousands of fans.”
Beautiful weather attracted fans today; we are in the 80s with very little cloud cover and a 0% chance of rain, for a change.
We have 3 Michigan natives in the field today, including Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski, and fan favorite Carson Hocevar. Despite runner-up finishes, no Michigan driver has ever won at MIS.
