The groundbreaking NASCAR and ARCA competitor looks to continue her impressive season while debuting a one-of-a-kind design honoring a defining moment in American history.
LONG POND, Pa. — Dystany Spurlock has spent much of 2026 proving she belongs. As she prepares for Friday’s ARCA Menards Series race at Pocono Raceway, the groundbreaking driver will look to build on a season that has produced both competitive results and historic milestones.
In just five starts across the ARCA platform, Spurlock has quickly become one of the sport’s most promising newcomers:
● Seventh-place finish in her ARCA Menards Series East debut
● Two top-15 finishes in her first two ARCA East starts
● Top-10 finish in her ARCA Menards Series national debut at Kansas Speedway
● Four top-15 finishes in five ARCA starts
● An average gain of eight positions from start to finish in ARCA national races
Those results have come across a diverse mix of racetracks, from Hickory Motor Speedway’s third-mile oval to the high-speed layout of Michigan International Speedway and the technical demands of Watkins Glen. Adding to the degree of difficulty, Spurlock had never competed at any of the venues before.
Her ability to quickly adapt to new environments has helped define a season that has also seen her become the first Black woman to compete in an ARCA Menards Series East race, the first Black woman to compete in an ARCA Menards Series national event, and the first Black woman to race in one of NASCAR’s three national touring series.
After facing adversity in her NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut at Dover Motor Speedway, Spurlock rebounded with a 13th-place, lead-lap finish at Michigan, continuing a trend of steady improvement and resilience.
“Every race this season has been a learning experience,” she said. “I’m still seeing most of these tracks for the first time, so the goal is always to gather as much information as possible, keep progressing, and make the most of every opportunity.”
Now, she and the MBM Motorsports/Garage 66 team turn their attention to Pocono’s unique 2.5-mile triangular layout. One of the most unconventional and challenging tracks in motorsports, “The Tricky Triangle” presents three differently banked corners and racing’s longest frontstretch. Success for the No. 66 Foxxtecca Ford will depend on finding speed
across varying conditions on a single lap.
The weekend will also mark the debut of a special Juneteenth-themed livery created by primary sponsor Foxxtecca.
Designed to celebrate Juneteenth and honor an important chapter in American history, the bold scheme features hand-drawn artwork, chalk-inspired textures, historical references, and the date June 19, 1865. The design stands apart from traditional motorsports liveries while reflecting both the significance of the holiday and Spurlock’s own journey through the sport.
“When people see this car, I hope they take a moment to look beyond the colors and graphics and think about what Juneteenth means and why it matters,” Spurlock said. “As someone pursuing a path that hasn’t traditionally had many people who look like me, that message feels very personal.”
According to Foxxtecca co-founders Chris Harris and Kellie Crawford, the project grew from conversations about how to authentically celebrate Juneteenth on one of the largest stages in American motorsports.
“We knew we didn’t want to simply put a logo on the car and call it a day,” said Harris. “We wanted to create something intentional. Something that celebrated Juneteenth in a way that felt authentic to who we are, to Dystany’s journey, and to the significance of the holiday itself.”
Founded on the belief that culture, technology, mobility, and diverse perspectives can come together to create meaningful change, Foxxtecca saw the project as an opportunity to tell a story that extends beyond racing while staying rooted in competition.
For Spurlock, however, the focus is the same as it has been all season: continuing to learn, develop, and race her way toward the front. That focus is captured in the Foxxtecca-produced docuseries Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR, which provides behind-the-scenes access and exclusive insight into Spurlock’s breakthrough 2026 season.
If her first five ARCA starts are any indication, she’ll once again be a driver to watch when the green flag drops at Pocono.
The Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 at Pocono Raceway is scheduled for Friday, June 12.
Qualifying is set for 1 p.m. ET, with the race beginning at 3 p.m. ET. Coverage will air live on FS1, with streaming available through the FOX Sports App and radio coverage provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
