Corey Day scored his first two O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victories in his first full-time season in the Hendrick Motorsports No. 17 Chevrolet in 2026. Today, Hendrick Motorsports announced that not only will Corey be back at HMS for the 2027 season and beyond, but he will also make his Cup Series debut!

“What Corey has accomplished in such a short time is remarkable,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “He came to us with generational talent but almost no experience racing on the pavement. The fact that he’s already competing for a championship at this level is extraordinary, and he’s just beginning to scratch the surface. We love Corey’s character and how he fits our organization, and we’re proud to have him with us for many years to come.”

In just his first full-time season, Corey has gone on to win twice and make his way deep into the Chase for the OAPS Championship. Per HMS, Corey will also get his shot at multiple Cup Series starts in 2027. Details such as which races, sponsorship, and car number will come at a later date.
