Honeycutt got a massive break last season as he took over the No. 52 Tundra for the wounded Stewart Friesen. Before the season ended, it was announced that he would take over the TRICON Garage No. 11 Tundra. Those were massive shoes to fill, as that team would eventually win the championship, with 12 races won that season.
We all knew it would only be a matter of time for Honeycutt to reach Victory Lane, but none of us expected the first to come on a road course. Watkins Glen would be his first, but tonight would be his biggest.
Contact in the opening laps cost his competitor, Layne Riggs, any opportunity at the title. A cut tire blew and tore apart the right rear of his No. 34 truck. With the near-immediate opportunity to hold fast and relax a bit, Honeycutt would score 13 unimpeded Stage Points that Layne couldn’t compete for.
Kaden would lead one lap early before falling back to a comfortable place. He wouldn’t get the lead back until late, for a total of 15 laps led on the evening.
Not only does Kaden win the Craftsman Truck Series Championship race, but with it, the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship. Five wins this season brought him to this moment. The Glen, Richmond, Kansas, and Phoenix before today.
