Justin Allgaier has been so close multiple times in 2024 to reaching Victory Lane, but something just seemed to keep him out. Despite the constant heartbreak, on Saturday afternoon, Justin broke through to win his first race of 2024 at Darlington Raceway.
It took Justin 11 races into the 2024 season to get this win, which is his 24th career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory, and that’s a big one. Justin Allgaier’s 24 victories tied him for 10th on NASCAR’s all-time wins list. He now sits tied with his NASCAR Hall of Fame owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tommy Houston.
Allgaier’s win Saturday afternoon was his third Darlington Spring win in the last four Spring races at the Lady in Black. He finished runner-up last season just behind Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson.
Justin scored his very first NASCAR (then) Nationwide Series victory in 2010 at the Bristol Motor Speedway for Team Penske, then his second the following season at Chicagoland for Turner Motorsports before going to the Cup Series.
Upon his return to the Xfinity Series in 2016, Justin began his push into the all-timers list in his second season at Junior Motorsports at Phoenix, setting off a now 8 season win streak.
Allgaier dominated Saturday afternoon, winning both Stages and leading 119 of the 147 laps. His afternoon netted him the maximum number of points available for the weekend: 60, 7 more than the runner-up of both stages and the race, Austin Hill, who scored 53 points.
