John Hunter Nemechek in Joe Gibbs equipment is a very potent combination in the Xfinity Series. Over the last season and a half, JGR and JHN have amassed 9 of 11 Xfinity Series victories. Overall, JGR and John Hunter have combined for 10 of those 11.
At this weekend’s Tennessee Lottery 250, John scored that 11th. John Hunter won Stage 2 and led twice for a race high 76 laps in rout to his second win of the season. This time, he got to hoist one of the most unique trophies in all of motorsports, the Gibson guitar.

Although John is not running for championship points in the Xfinity Series, he is racking them up for the 20 car in the Owners Championship. 13 points added via Stage Points and 40 more for the race win help put the 20 team in 3rd. The Owners Championship is where the big money get paid out after all.
John Hunter Nemechek’s win puts him 9th on the active Xfinity drivers list just behind Cole Custer with 13 series victories.
John Hunter was one of only three drivers to lead laps all afternoon long. Teammate Ty Gibbs in the 19 GR Supra led 48 laps. Stewart-Haas Racing driver Cole Custer led 64 laps and JHN led the race high 76.
Cole Custer now sits 15 points ahead of John’s teammate and Xfinity Series regular Chandler Smith in the points standings and 48 ahead of Justin Allgaier.
