Patrick O’Donovan to Make Extreme E Debut for Legacy Motor Club

Following their 6th place finishes in Saudi Arabia thanks to team’s racing drivers Gray Leadbetter and legend Travis Pastrana, the team is about to see the sport’s youngest driver pairing to date. In the upcoming Hydro X-Prix, the team will add Patrick O’Donovan to their co-driver roster.

New Co-Driver Patrick O’Donovan

Team co-driver Gray Leadbetter (19-years-old) will now join forces with Patrick O’Donovan (20-years-old) for the upcoming Hydro X-Prix in Scotland on July 13 and 14. O’Donovan will fill in for co-owner and co-driver Jimmie Johnson, the former IndyCar driver and 7x NASCAR Cup Series champion. Johnson was scheduled to race in Scotland but will now wait until the upcoming double-header in Sardinia, Italy.

Despite never running an Extreme E event, O’Donovan has proven to be a formidable off-road racer as a 2x British rallycross champion and has won in the FIA RX2e where he is a race winner. O’Donovan scored a podium at the final round of the 2023 World Rallycross Championship in Hong Kong, China.

Legacy Motor Club in Association with Jimmie Johnson, made their first expansion outside of the NASCAR Cup Series in Extreme E in 2024. LMC is one of two teams from the United States comepeting globally in Extreme E along side Andretti Altawkilat. Starting their season off well 6th in the standings following both rounds of the Desert X-Prix in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Extreme E is an off-road, all electric racing series from the creators of Formula E. This time it showcases SUV silhouettes designed to withstand some of the harshest environments on planet earth. Using a single designed SUV fleet named ODYSSEE 21 that produces 550hp.
